Someone needs to write the hidden history of hardcore bands and Violent Femmes' mathematical nerd-rage anthem "Kiss Off," the closest than any acoustic band ever came to writing Suicidal Tendencies "Institutionalized." The night after I graduated from high school, I watched Avail, my favorite hardcore band ever, cover the song onstage in DC. (They might've even passed me the mic at one point? My memories of Avail shows get a bit hazy.) And today, we get Ceremony, who already released one of the year's great punk albums in Zoo, covering the song as part of the AV Club's "Undercover" series. Watch it below.
