Solange Joins Dirty Projectors For Opening Ceremony

Not talking Olympics Opening Ceremony, easy as it is to confuse D. Longstreth and k.d. lang. The Opening Ceremony at play here is the $oHo boutique frequented by high-end hipsters and haute-minded indie rockers, and the precipitating event was OC's Fashion Week afterparty at the Ace Hotel. It went down over the weekend, according to the Opening Ceremony blog, but you'll have to forgive Stereogum for falling behind on its fashion week coverage (although, quite really, R.I.P. Alexander McQueen). Thanks to reader Surafel for keeping us in the loop.

Sadly the sound is pretty shit on these YouTubes, but watching BKLYN #1 jam come to life in celebration of high fashion and its trappings is, well, it's sorta where BKLYN indie rock is at these days. At least according to the media. Solange stuck around for a group cover of Groove Theory's "Tell Me," DPs also did up a "Cannibal Resource," and of course there's the night's "Stillness Is The Move" here for you, and finally there's some music-related fashion week news that doesn't involve Axl. We're getting there.
