The Beast Coastal Tour kicked off in Portland last night with performances from Joey Bada$$ and his Pro Era crew, Flatbush Zombies, and the Underachievers. The inspired grouping played the small venue Peter's Room, as opposed to Roseland upstairs, allegedly because Joey wanted a more intimate room. His set mostly pulled from 1999 and P.E.E.P: The aPROcalypse, though the Brooklyn rapper did play a song from a new album he's working on. The crew shouted out the late Capital Steez a few times, asking the audience to flash peace signs in his honor. We sent Colin McLaughlin to capture the evening.
