Earlier this year, Ariel Pink shared "I Need A Minute," his contribution to the soundtrack for Heaven Knows What. That song is now being put out as a single in a few different forms: A ninja star-shaped 7" will be released in a few days for Record Store Day Black Friday with a Dev Hynes collaboration, "Heaven Can't Wait," as its B-side. The digital single for "I Need A Minute" will be paired with another new track called "Hall Of Screams," a creepy-sounding instrumental that you can listen to over at Pitchfork.
Here's how Pink described his musical contributions to the film in a statement:
In a stucco tile peeling off the corner - short circuit neon flickers on a cracked mirror over a scuzzy fossitwith pubic hairs encrusted in heaven’s Mcdonald’s… The ecstasy of a locked door. The moments of personal bliss away from the noise of the wretched streets. red bull logo - it’s serenity. synthetic artificial candy opiated bliss. cough drop. christmas eve temporary relief - warmth found in the bosom of a bathroom of a department store.
The physical version of "I Need A Minute" will be released on Record Store Day's Black Friday (11/27). The digital single is out 12/11.
