Somewhat confusingly, Howard Ivans is the musical project of Ivan Howard, one half of the long-running North Carolina duo the Rosebuds and a member of the soft-rock supergroup Gayngs. Now, he's channeling the smoothness of Gayngs and the Rosebuds' cover of Sade's Love Deluxe into some real-ass Donald Fagen shit, and he's doing it with the help of Matthew E. White's Richmond-based Spacebomb Studios and their house band. As you'd expect from a pedigree like that, "King Of Careless," the latest track from Howard Ivans' upcoming full-length debut Beautiful Tired Bodies, is a sumptuously arranged blast of smooth, smooth sensuality, and you can hear it below.
