I am entering my Slayyyter era. Even though the pop singer has a few albums under her belt, most recently 2023's Starfucker, it wasn't until I heard last year's "CANNIBALISM!" that I was really hooked. (The video features the incredibly inspiring drag skateboarder Chandler Burton and it became one of my favorite tracks of 2025.) Today, she's returned with another hypnotizing single "DANCE..." and a self-directed video. It's the latest from her newly announced album Wor$t Girl In America, out 3/27.
"DANCE..." is a dark and seductive pop song. If you're a fan of French electro, the Climax soundtrack, or the Weeknd's After Hours era, then you'll probably be into this. "DANCE..." opens with anxious percussion that nearly sounds like the evil sister of Dolly Parton's "9 To 5." The track comes into focus with buzzy synths and a vampiric melody. Then the chorus hits with euphoric declarations: "I kinda hate you, but It doesn't matter, let me dance" and "You seem so miserable. It doesn't matter, let me dance." Some good ole hedonistic fun.
