John Andrews & The Yawns Announce New Album Streetsweeper: Hear “Something To Be Said”

John Andrews & The Yawns — good band name. It's accurate too, but not in a bad way. Andrews, a member of Cut Worms and Widowspeak, sounds casually drowsy on "Something To Be Said," the opening track from his newly announced album Streetsweeper, produced by Luke Temple in Los Angeles. His vocals have a cozy just-awoken-from-a-nap vibe that pair well with the music's mildly psychedelic '70s folk-pop feel.

That rumpled lightness of being is an interesting contrast with the hockey-themed visuals that grace the album cover and the "Something To Be Said" video. Hilla Eden shot it on Super 8 in Red Hook, Brooklyn, and Andrews combined the footage with his own hand-drawn animations. Watch below, especially if you're into bands like Drugdealer, Little Kid, and Andrews' old pals Woods.
