Lone Announces New Album Hyperphantasia: Hear “Life Spark”

UK producer Matt Culter has been making playfully psychedelic rave music under the name Lone for nearly two decades. The last Lone album was Always Inside Your Head, and it came out way back in 2021. Since then, though, he's cranked out singles like "Triton," "Ascension.png," and "Sickly, Sweetly Summer Movie." All of those tracks will appear on Hyperphantasia, the new album that Lone just announced.

On Hyperphantasia, Lone chases old-school rave sounds, and he brings in outside collaborators like his Greco-Roman labelmates Ell Murphy and Lou Hayter, as well as Spanish singer Bikôkô, UK rapper Juga-Naut, and London-via-Hong Kong musician Merry Lamb Lamb. Lone's new single "Life Spark" embraces the hyper-sweet melodies and hammering thuds of early-'90s hardcore rave, and it's a whole lot of fun. Below, you'll find that song and the Hyperphantasia tracklist.
