The most anticipated movie of 2026 is easily Christopher Nolan's version of the The Odyssey, which is set to hit theaters this summer. It's Nolan's follow-up to Oppenheimer, a full-on cultural-event blockbuster that won the Best Picture Oscar, and it's about the biggest production that anyone can imagine. Nolan shot the movie on location around the world, using actual ships rather than CGI wherever possible. The ridiculously stacked cast reportedly includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Charlize Theron, and Jon Bernthal, among many others. Also, it looks like Travis Scott is in there?
Even though The Odyssey is among the oldest stories in history, details of the production have been kept as secret as possible. Here's what Robert Pattinson, another of the picture's stars, recently told GQ about it: "I think you get assassinated if you talk about it. But from what I experienced of it, it’s just unbelievable. It was an unbelievable experience. I think one thing I can say: I saw a sheep, and…. Actually, I can’t even say that. I saw a sheep! That’s the only thing I can reveal." He saw a sheep.
But during Sunday's mind-numbing AFC Championship game, there was a minute-long commercial for The Odyssey, and Travis Scott was in it. We see Scott banging a staff on the ground and telling the story of Odysseus and the Trojan War: "A war! A man! A trick! A trick to break the walls of Troy and burn it, screaming, to the ground!" So: Is this footage in the actual movie? Is Travis Scott playing Homer? See for yourself below.

Before this, there were no reports about Travis Scott appearing in The Odyssey, but this sure looks like it's happening. Up until now, Scott has only had a couple of film acting roles outside of his own music-video spectacle situations. He had a small role in the 2019 Nabil-directed movie Gully, and he's one of the stars of Harmony Korine's experimental 2023 crime flick Aggro Dr1ft. Also, he played the voice of a character called Rhyme-a-saurus in the 2021 TV special Trolls: Holiday In Harmony. But Scott does have a past Christopher Nolan association, since he contributed the end-credits song "The Plan" to Nolan's 2020 feature Tenet.
The Odyssey opens in theaters 7/17.
