The Queens-based artist Margaret Sohn makes conceptual pop music under the name Miss Grit, and their debut album Follow The Cyborg came out three years ago. Miss Grit recently appeared on tracks from mui zyu and the Null Club and released the single "Tourist Mind," and now they're announcing their sophomore album Under My Umbrella.
Miss Grit recorded Under My Umbrella after touring hard behind Follow The Cyborg, often driving themselves across North America by themselves. According to a press release, it's a more freeform record that works to recapture the in-the-moment sensation of playing live. "Tourist Mind" opens the album, and we get another new track today.
Miss Grit's new single "Stranger" is a dreamy electro-pop track that Sohn co-produced with their longtime mix engineer Aron Kobayashi Ritch, who also plays bass in Momma. Below, you'll find the "Stranger" video, as well as the Under My Umbrella tracklist and Miss Grit's upcoming shows.
