Dream Fatigue come from Salem, Massachusetts, and they specialize in the kind of churning, heavy alt-rock that's all the rage in the underground these days. Drummer Matt Wood used to be in both Vein and Fleshwater, and there's a lot of Fleshwater in Dream Fatigue's big choruses and guttural riffs. Dream Fatigue released their debut the lady in the sky in 2024, and they followed it with a cool new song called "Be Your Anchor" on New Year's Day. Now, they've announced a new EP called No Requiem and shared another song.
"Spun," the new single from the No Requiem EP, follows the same blueprint as "Be Your Anchor." Both songs are short, clocking in at less than two minutes, and both of them lean hard on singer Jonali McFadden's gigantic voice. The tracks work as unhinged, tempo-switching takes on late-'90s post-grunge, which is interesting in theory though also a little scary for those of us who remember it. But McFadden pushes those songs to unearthly places. Below, check out "Spun" and the No Requiem tracklist.
