Grammys 2026: Bad Bunny Condemns ICE While Accepting Award For Best Música Urbana Album

Bad Bunny released his latest album Debí Tirar Más Fotos in January of last year, and now it's the Puerto Rican star's third studio album to receive a Grammy Award. While accepting the trophy for Best Música Urbana Album, Bad Bunny used his acceptance speech to condemn ICE's horrific, unjustifiable atrocities across the continental US. To a roaring applause, he said:

Before I say thanks to God, I gotta say, ICE out. We're not savages. We're not animals. We're not aliens. We are humans, and we are Americans. Um, also, I wanna say to the people, I know it's tough not to hate these days. I was thinking sometimes we get contaminados — I don't know how to say that in English. The hate gets more powerful with more hate. The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love. Please, we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love. We don't hate them. We love our people, we love our family. And that's the way to do it, with love. Don't forget that, please.

Bad Bunny has previously cited ICE as a major factor in his hesitance towards touring the continental US. He does occasionally make appearances here, however: Last May he was the musical guest on SNL before returning to host last September, and next weekend he'll headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Bad Bunny got six total Grammy nominees this year. Debí Tirar Más Fotos is up for Album Of The Year and Best Album Cover, “DTMF” for both Record and Song Of The Year, and "Eoo" already won for Best Global Music Performance.
