Less than a month since the release of their Eyeball EP, nerd-pop OGs They Might Be Giants are back today with news of a new LP. Due out in April, The World Is To Dig is the first TMBG album since 2021's BOOK, and I'm happy to report that the lead single is called "Wu-Tang."
Yes, the chorus of this chipper little power-pop tune involves the Johns singing the titular phrase repeatedly, in ever higher registers. It's all about how the Wu-Tang Clan is, to quote a press release, "a transformative force and a guiding light through inner conflict and personal struggle." These guys have written kids' music before, but "Wu-Tang" is not, expressly, for the children. They might enjoy it, though.
