Carla dal Forno Announces New Album Confession: Hear “Going Out”

Carla dal Forno is back. The reliably good Australian singer-songwriter has a new album called Confession coming in April, and today, she's announcing the follow-up to 2022's Come Around with the lead single "Going Out."

Dal Forno wrote Confession, which she says is about "a friendship that became emotionally charged in an unexpected way,” in a studio housed inside an abandoned hospital. "Going Out" is the first song she wrote for the album as well as its opener, and it sets a transparent, unsettling tone: "Shouldn’t want to kiss you but I do/ Shouldn’t want to touch you but I miss you all the time," she sings to somebody currently dating an old friend of hers. The track is anchored in slinky, understated synths and a melodic bassline at the forefront — think Gaga's "Paparazzi" by way of Young Marble Giants.

Check out Hanna Chetwin's video for "Going Out" below along with the full Confession tracklist.
