Brighton singer-songwriter Maximilian has announced a new EP Diurnals, out May 8, and shared a new single. "I Know You" is a cozy acoustic-guitar-driven track with piano and fiddle embellishments. It was recorded live with no click track and produced at Farm Road studios with Bobby Smyth, as are all of the songs on the forthcoming release. It's soft, warm like afternoon sun peaking through a window.
In the press release, Maximilian shared that "I Know You" is about “expressing and celebrating gratitude, in the face of whatever might change. Vocalising positivity, love and joy, because it’s a muscle worth building.”
The single also comes with a wholesome video in which people expound on loss and gratitude. "I gathered 28 people, both friends and strangers, to ask them all the same three questions. I hoped that their individual answers together would tell us something we all need to hear, and they did."
