Amy Helm is the daughter of two fellow folk singer-songwriters: Levon Helm, who died in 2012, and Libby Titus, who died in 2024. When Titus died, she was married to Steely Dan founding frontman Donald Fagen, whom Helm has been featuring on her Instagram a bit over the past few weeks.
Last month Helm posted a pair of videos promoting events at Levon Helm Studios, the Woodstock performance/recording space she owns that was established in the late Band member's honor. Both of them are selfie videos taken in a car with Fagen sitting beside her, looking unamused, exagerratedly moving his jaw around, and checking a non-existent watch at one point. Stereogum asked for an Episode 3. Helm delivered. Yesterday she posted a third similar promo video, but this time, Fagen is drawing some incomprehensible art on the car window (and checking his invisible watch again).
