Vocalist Kyle Thornton, bassist Ryan Mortell, guitarist Eoin Keigher, and drummer Adam Nealon are Nerves, a Dublin-based post-hardcore group. This week they returned with their first music of the year, a single titled "N26." It was produced by Gilla Band's Daniel Fox, who's worked with the band on previous releases.

"N26" is relentless distortion. The opening builds such thrilling unease like that scene from Charlie And The Chocolate Factory when they're in the elevator and about to blast through the roof. I'm sure there's a much cooler, grittier comparison but that's where my mind went. "N26" is frenetic and frustrated, lyrically tackling the erasure of rural Irish towns.
