Midrift Announce Debut Album Silhouette: Hear “over anything”

The members of the San Francisco shoegaze trio Midrift were 16 and 17 years old when they blew up with the viral hits "Twin Flames" and "unrequited." They were children! They're a couple of years older now, which means they're still crazy young, and they've become one of the bigger shoegaze-revival bands out there. They're a little more connected to the punk and hardcore worlds than most of their peers; they covered Title Fight at Sound And Fury and just got off tour with Angel Du$t. Now, Midrift are about to hit the road again, this time with Fleshwater and julie, and they've announced plans to release their first full-length in June.

Midrift's upcoming LP Silhouette includes the previously released singles "safe and sound," "tell me everything," and "reaching for you." Today, they share the album opener "over anything," which is basically an emo song with thicker guitars. These kids have managed to rack up hundreds of thousands of monthly Spotify listeners with only an EP and a few singles to their name, so it'll be interesting to see what happens when they go into album mode. Below, check out the Karl Perkins-directed "over everything" video and the Silhouette tracklist.

TRACKLIST:
01 "over anything"
02 "silhouette"
03 "not far gone"
04 "difference to"
05 "all I said"
06 "bouquet"
07 "reaching for you"
08 "tell me everything"
09 "safe and sound"
10 "if you have to go"

The self-released Silhouette is out 6/5.
