Otoboke Beaver Announce New EP Is The New Album Out Yet?: Hear “I Don’t Need To Be In Your Strike Zone”

Japanese punk favorites Otoboke Beaver are back today with their first new song in four years. "I Don't Need To Be In Your Strike Zone" is part of a new three-song EP that the band is calling a maxi single, humorously titled Is The New Album Out Yet? The other two tracks are out this Friday (“Hey, Where’s the Thank You?”) and next Wednesday, April 15 (“Is The New Album Out Yet?”). A physical 4" record will all three songs will follow in June.

These new songs mark Otoboke Beaver's final recordings with drummer Kahokiss, who went on maternity leave after last year's Fuji Rock Festival and announced her retirement from the band this year. New drummer Leo (Emi), billed as an old friend of the band, is also in Ni Hao! and was a member of Shonen Knife from 2010-2014.
