Coachella kicked off yesterday, with Sabrina Carpenter headlining and Slayyyter drawing a big crowd for her much-hyped new album WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA. The night also had Turnstile's first performance since former guitarist Brady Ebert was charged with attempted murder of Brendan Yates' father. The set began with a recording of Yates' father.
"I'm Bill Yates, I'm the proud father of Brendan," he says in the video. "They're all sons of mine. They've been practicing in the house for about 13 years now. Just recently they vacated the basement. They're at a point where the larger the venue the better, because they just enjoy the energy. To all the fans out there, we love you and Turnstile loves you and enjoy the ride."
Ebert, who was kicked out of his new band called the S.E.T. in February after trashing Turnstile, is accused of intentionally striking the 79-year-old with his car outside Yates' home. The hardcore band shared a statement, and Ebert claims he hit Yates' dad with the vehicle in self-defense.
Turnstile's set also featured Blood Orange joining them for "Seein' Stars." They also paid homage to Harm's Way's Bo Lueders, who passed away last week, by displaying his name on an amp in a heart. Their setlist was made up of songs from last year's Never Enough and 2021's Glow On. Watch footage below.
