In 2021, Ethel Cain posted a demo called "Wrestling In Dirt Pits" to Tumblr, and it sampled Drive-By Truckers' "Angels And Fuselage" from their 2001 album Southern Rock Opera. Now the alt-pop singer covered the track for Triple J's Like A Version series.
"I chose to cover this song because I think it's one of the best songs of all time," she said in the behind-the-scenes interview. "And I've got a little list of songs that I consider to be the greatest songs of all time, but this one has always kind of resonated with me specifically. I just knew we had to do it. Simple as that."
