Purelink & Rainy Miller – “Barrons Hotel (I, To, Thee.)” & “Yellow Bones”

Faith, the latest album from NYC ambient electronic trio Purelink, was one of the best records anyone released last year, and this week they released a couple more incredible tracks. For "Barrons Hotel (I, To, Thee.)" and "Yellow Bones," the group teamed up with Rainy Miller, an artful young British singer-songwriter whose atmospheric, post-Blonde aesthetic is a perfect match for Purelink.

"Barrons Hotel" starts out spacious and floaty, like an electronic-era Bon Iver treatment of Arthur Russell, but it grows chaotic by the end in a way that evokes Oneohtrix Point Never. "Yellow Bones" gets strummy and ethereal in a way that reminds me of Mk.gee. Both tracks are stunners, so don't skip them when they're waiting for you right below this text.

Barrons Hotel/Yellow Bones is out now on Fixed Abode.
