Liam Gallagher has never lacked for opinions about anything, least of all his Britpop peers. That trend continued Sunday as the Oasis frontman logged into Twitter to sound off on Suede and Manic Street Preachers, who announced a co-headlining UK tour last week.
When one user asked Gallagher if he'd heard about the tour, he replied, "Fuck them." When pressed for more information, he obliged with a succinct dismissal: "Both shit and lack attitude swagger and style." In a separate reply, he added, "Dress like estate agents and if they want fucking bring it on."
Suede's Brett Anderson never much liked Oasis either, famously describing their work as "real music, made of wood," but in 2013 he told Q Magazine he'd had a "warm and friendly" encounter with Gallagher on the streets of London. Whatever goodwill was there must have evaporated over the ensuing decade. In 2024, when someone asked about the possibility of Suede opening for Oasis on their reunion tour, Liam answered, "Not happening there too cocky esp that singer."
