The hype surrounding Midrift's Silhouette has been building for a couple of years now. After generating some buzz with early tracks "Twin Flames" and "unrequited," the young San Francisco shoegazers announced their debut album last month with the promising and punky lead single "over anything." Today they're back with the title track, a blast of pure alt-rock revivalism with riffs aplenty, over which vocalist/guitarist Gus Mehrkam sings about a void left by a former partner: "The walls between your life and mine should come down." Watch Sebastian Chen's video for "Silhouette" below.
The self-released Silhouette is out 6/5.
