Party Dozen – “Special Unit”

Australian sax-and-drums duo Party Dozen make freaked-out, fired-up rock 'n' roll. Their 2022 debut album The Real Work wound up in our Album Of The Week column, and they followed it up with 2024's Crime In Australia. After dropping the one-off single "Mad Rooter" last year, they're getting ready to tour North America with Amyl And The Sniffers, and they've got another new single for us today. It's a charged-up garage rock attack called "Special Unit," and it's got a ridiculous video where the two band members are cops who have bananas instead of guns. Here's what they say about it:

You have the right to remain stupid. Anything you say or do will be laughable. If you cannot afford common sense, a version of it will be provided for you. You have minimal training and exhibit zero qualities that qualify you for the authority bestowed upon you. So here’s your gun, and your uniform. Have fun out there and welcome to SPECIAL UNIT."

Below, check out that clip and Party Dozen's tour dates.
