Slayyyter Makes Her Gale-Force TV Debut On Fallon

Todd Owyoung/NBC

Slayyyter's blaring, serrated, knowingly trashy new LP WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA is one of the best albums of 2026 thus far, and it's blowing the fuck up. She's been making culty club-pop for years now, but this is the record that's finally taking her over the top. Case in point: Slayyyter gave her first-ever televised performance on Tuesday night's episode of The Tonight Show, and she made the absolute most of it.

Slayyyter's whole aesthetic concept is something about Middle American white-trash glamor, and she steered into it hard on Fallon. Slayyyter herself looked extremely sparkly, but the guys in her backing band resembled the sketched-out white drug dealer family from Euphoria. Together, they played "DANCE...," one of the many highlights from WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA, and they made that shit look and sound operatic.

I don't know who gets credit for the lighting during Slayyyter's performance, but that person did an amazing job. The stage set was a made to look like a janky backyard during a hurricane, and it added an amazing, heightened atmosphere. When the fireworks went off during the finale, it felt like a real arrival. Watch it happen below.

The only way that Slayyyter can get any better at this pop-star thing is if she remembers her own stage name.
