Phoebe Bridgers Appears In First Teaser For Primetime, A24’s To Catch A Predator Movie

Phoebe Bridgers has been busy behind the scenes. The formerly omnipresent indie singer-songwriter and boygenius member more or less dropped off the face of the Earth for two years after her huge night at the 2024 Grammys. But she's been back in a big way this spring, playing a series of tightly locked down surprise shows in cities with a history of UFO sightings. What at first seemed like a few pop-up gigs has revealed itself as a whole tour, with setlists including lots of new songs from what presumably will be Bridgers' first solo album since 2020's landscape-shifting Punisher. (Remember when she told us the story behind every track?)

But Bridgers has been up to more than just music. Last year, she was spotted in costume on the set of Primetime, the new A24 movie inspired by To Catch A Predator, directed by Lance Oppenheim and starring Robert Pattinson. The film marks the proper acting debut for Bridgers after previous onscreen appearances as herself. Last month, we got word that Primetime would screen in India this fall. Now the movie's first official teaser has appeared, and Bridgers is in it.

Pattinson gets to do one of his trademark zany voices here, narrating a monologue about how men must be held accountable in character as Dateline NBC's Chris Hansen. Costars Merritt Wever and Skyler Gisondo also appear, and Bridgers can be seen briefly in the array of images that cycles across the screen. The teaser doesn't reveal a release date, but it does say the movie will also feature Matthew Maher and Bokeem Woodbine and will be out this fall in theaters only. Why don't you take a seat...
