The dreamy Minneapolis rockers she's green just played the New York version of the shoegaze fest Slide Away, and they're getting ready to release their new EP Swallowtail. We've already posted the early tracks "Mettle" and "Paper Thin," and now they've shared the gauzy, expansive seven-minute song "Close Your Eyes." This one is all chiming, sighing textures, and I can really get lost in it. Here's what bandleader Zofia Smith says about it:
"Close Your Eyes" is about a mysterious person who kept recurring in my dreams. In those dreams, we shared a life together by the ocean. Waking up and realizing they weren’t real left a lasting impression on me, leaving me wondering about our connection to our dreams, how my mind could have created this person, or if I knew them in a past life.
That's honestly a perfect explanation for a song like this one. Listen below.
The Swallowtail EP is out 7/10 on Photo Finish.
