Ariel Pink Says He’s The “Most Banned Artist,” Still Supports Donald Trump

Ariel Pink is once again asking for your attention. Pink and John Maus attended the Jan. 6, 2021 Trump rally in Washington, DC that ended when his supporters stormed the Capitol, and Pink was dropped from Mexican Summer in the immediate aftermath. That same month, Pink's ex-girlfriend accused him of physical and sexual abuse in a court case. Since then, Pink has made multiple appearances on Tucker Carlson to talk about being canceled. Now, he's at it again.

Earlier this year, the former Sopranos star Drea de Matteo launched ULTRAFREE, a podcast about "free speech" and cancel culture. Apparently, it was partly in response to Hollywood's reaction after she spoke out against COVID-19 vaccine mandates. Last week, she interviewed Ariel Pink, who had a lot to say.

Talking to de Matteo, Pink said, "They shut me down and shut me up," and then he confirmed that the "they" is "the industry." He went on:

I'm the most banned artist. They don't sell my music at Amoeba Records. I'm the least distributed artist in the world. My own audience, or my fanbase, has basically atrophied over the past six years because I haven't even been able to get a foothold and get out there. Not one person in the industry coming to my defense or anything like that because they'd all get cancelled.

When asked about "buyer's remorse," Pink reaffirmed that he continues to support Donald Trump: "I believe in Trump... I actually do. I don't hate the United States. I have benefited from every terrible thing that any of the presidents — the past presidents that I hate and I don't even agree with — I have benefited from all the stupid crazy shit that they've done on my behalf elsewhere in the world. And I've reaped the benefits and the rewards from it by living here."

Pink and de Matteo also reacted to a recent Hillary Clinton interview. I don't really know what was going on there.

I'll be honest, I did not consume the entire podcast. But in the another of the clips on Instagram, Pink admits to being "one of the unlikable people in history," while de Matteo disagrees, telling him that he's got "the fuckin' balls of a motherfuckin' Bengal tiger." Also, de Matteo says that the Mafia is "using the Jews as human body shields," and she tells the story of when she met Corey Feldman.

Riveting entertainment. Ariel Pink has had more to say on Twitter. Apparently, he's banned from Los Angeles restaurants?
