Monday we received the news that Carly Rae Jepsen has a new double album in the queue. Day And Night boasts 24 tracks: 12 daytime jams described as "organic and raw, with live instrumentation and hints of '70s-inspired psychedelic pop," plus 12 for the nighttime "exploratory and intense, shifting into a sleek, synth-driven world of dance-pop."
Lead single "On Wires," out today, is from the daytime disc. It's living up to that description above thanks to a lush piano-led arrangement that feels like a live band. "I want to be more than friends for the week," CRJ sings. Things get briefly explosive when she declares, "I want you," but the casually luxurious '70s afternoon vibe persists.
Jepsen wrote "On Wires" with Nate Cyphert and producer Kyle Shearer. Listen below.
Day And Night is out 9/18 on Interscope.
