Slow Pulp are great at piano ballads. The Chicago indie rockers proved this with the beautiful title track of 2023's Yard, and now they're proving it again with the second Melodie single "Not For Nothing," which is out today.
"This song is me just trying to externalize very complex emotions — of feeling stuck, of not being able to change how I feel, of my emotions permeating my life, and the heartbreak of my life changing in ways both unexpected by myself and by others," Henry Stoehr explains. "I feel so many people have felt something similarly, and I wanted to write a song that would reach people where they are and give them something concrete to grasp onto in the midst of a feeling that is hard to put into words."
The track follows last month's "Better Man," which we named one of the best songs of the week. Below watch the Ben Turok-directed video for "Not For Nothing."
