Hayley Williams Brings Out Wednesday, This Is Lorelei, Jack Antonoff, & More At Newport Folk Festival

No one is tapped in quite like Hayley Williams. That woman has taste. She brought Water From Your Eyes and Snuggle with her on her first solo tour, and there were many great guests, like Snooper, Julien Baker, and more. Last night she played the Newport Folk Festival and brought out Wednesday, This Is Lorelei, Jack Antonoff, and many, many more.

Her set was so full of guests that she only performed two songs by herself: "Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party" and "Kill Me." Wednesday's Karly Hartzman joined her for the Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party track "Mirtazapine." Then Williams welcomed This Is Lorelei’s Nate Amos (and live members Al Nardo and Bailey Wollowitz aka Fantasy Of A Broken Heart) so they could perform his track "I'm All Fucked Up" from his instant-classic Box For Buddy, Box For Star. Then came Joy Oladokun — who just announced her new album Hope Is A Heavy Thing — to sing her Sheryl Crow collab "I'd Miss The Birds" with Williams.

She brought out Liam Benzi and the pair did his song "Thin Air." Then she returned to Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party, singing "Disappearing Man" with the help of Annie DiRusso. Then she was joined by Jenny Lewis — who also joined her at her tour closer in LA — so they could tackle Rilo Kiley's "Silver Lining."

Instead of sticking to Ego Death, Williams gave a live debut to the Petals For Armor cut "Leave It Alone," and for that she brought out Kelsey Lu. The pair also gave a live debut to that album's "Roses/Lotus/Violet/Iris" with Lucy Dacus, whose earlier set was joined by Williams. But that's not it! Remi Wolf took the stage to perform an unreleased song called "Twiggy Little Butt." Then Williams did Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party's "True Believer" with UK-based electronic musician Phoenix Rousiamanis. Then, with Madi Diaz and Kelsey Lu, Williams gave a live debut to "Find Me Here" from 2021's Flowers For Vases / Descansos.

Lastly, Jack Antonoff joined for an acoustic performance of the Bleachers hit "I Wanna Get Better," plus Williams' "Good Ol' Days" (One year ago today, she was a guest for Bleachers' Newport Folk Festival set). Then, everyone (including a puppy) came out for Bill Withers' 1972 classic "Lean On Me." What a set!

Afterwards, Williams also joined Courtney Barnett’s aftershow at Newport Blues Cafe.
