This summer brought the welcome news that Royal Trux's Jennifer Herrema had reactivated her Black Bananas project for an album with new label home Fire Records. We soon learned that album is called Bad Bunch, and we heard its lead single "Turkey Burgers." The track was a revelation, a zonked chillwave-funk jam that made me feel like I was surfing this website at the dawn of the 2010s and reading breathless reports about Brooklyn warehouse parties. I'm pleased to report that the next single is just as good.
When I press play on "Eddie's Album," I feel like I'm having an amazing time at a party where the Avalanches are remixing Ed Banger tracks and reality is beginning to bend. They need to bring back Pitchfork.TV just to book this band on Juan's Basement. Listen below.
