I don't want another Justin Bieber. One is more than enough for this world (not derogatory). But I love a good, measured vocal trill. And Nate Sib, who some have dubbed "hyperpop Justin Bieber," has plenty of them. Today, ahead of his forthcoming debut album Reborn, out later this month, he's returned with another stunning single, "All I Needed."
"All I Needed" is pop-R&B bliss. It hits a sweet spot for my inner grade-schooler, who would be blasting this on repeat, crying over a crush that doesn't know my name. Sib's croons are cursive and down-pillow soft. His lyrics aren't the most original but they are soaked in relatable melodrama: "When you're by my side, I'm not lost/ We ain't gotta talk, we can say nothing at all."
