Last year, before releasing the hauntingly beautiful album New Radiations, Marissa Nadler joined forces with Seattle musician Milky Burgess for a collaborative EP called The Bloody Gardener. Burgess also helped with instrumental arrangements plus recording and engineering on New Radiations, and now the pair is teaming up again for a cover of Buddy Killen's classic hit "Forever."
"This song was popularized by Pete Drake and his version is the version that I fell in love with. The song was written by Buddy Killen and was released by the Little Dippers and Billy Walker in January 1960," Nadler explained on Bandcamp.
"I've loved this song for so so so many years....So has Milky," she continued. "We'd made the skeleton for this track long ago but decided to unearth it and revamp it. Thank you for listening."
