San Francisco's Aluminum released their full-length debut Fully Beat in 2024, and now they're announcing its followup Iconoclast HaHa. The lead single, "Killing Time," is a relentless ripper.
Aluminum are Marc Leyda on vocals, guitar, and sampler; Ryann Gonsalves on vocals and bass; Austin Montanari on guitar; and Rick Altieri on drums. The group recorded Iconoclast HaHa with the great Jack Shirley in Oakland.
"Killing Time" comes with a video, about which Leyda says, "We wanted to visualize the commodification of the individual alongside the endless waste put out by American society." Director Ryann Gonsalves adds, "I clean a little beach off the Bay some mornings, picking up bits of Styrofoam, lost shoes, shotgun shells, Big Gulp cups, etc. I imagined everything I picked up going through a grocery store conveyor belt and became fixated on the cycles of waste."
