The Coachella lineup used to drop in January, but we had this year's poster in September 2025, so it does appear to be that time of year. Right on cue, the industry publication HITS Daily Double has once again come through with a list of rumored headliners.
Topping that list is Tame Impala. Kevin Parker's current arena-scale live show is impressive, his catalog is full of highlights, and his music has always gone over swimmingly at festivals, including Coachella, where Tame Impala previously headlined in 2019. The dynamic of the fest has shifted away from rock and toward pop in recent years, but so has Tame Impala.
Also tipped to headline next year is Parker's collaborator Dua Lipa, which feels appropriate. She's one of the biggest pop stars of her generation, i.e. exactly the kind of artist who usually headlines Coachella these days. BTS, the K-pop superstars who made their comeback this year after their members completed their mandatory military service for South Korea, will supposedly be the third headliner. Coachella reportedly pursued Miley Cyrus to headline and she turned them down; the now-mononymous Miley announced her new album Bass Persuades today.
HITS also says SZA, Oasis, and Radiohead are under consideration, but SZA is way more likely than either legendary British rock band. I have to believe all three of those artists are big enough to headline? Buried further down in the scoop-filled article is news that Olivia Rodrigo fired Josh Dembling and Mookie Singerman, the managers she hired in January, ahead of last weekend's Daisy Chain Fields festival. Lastly, Soundgarden, whose surviving members are performing at next week's NFL season kickoff in Seattle, are considering their first tour since frontman Chris Cornell's 2017 death.
Coachella 2027 is set to take place over two weekends once again, April 9-11 and 16-18, at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California as always. The advance ticket sale on May 1 sold out quickly.
