Ryan Hemsworth – “I Missed You More” (Feat. Nana Lourdes)

12:54 PM EDT on September 2, 2026

The adventurous, genre-agnostic Canadian producer Ryan Hemsworth has been around since the early cloud-rap days. Lately, he's been working as one half of the duo Bodysync and as a member of Gia Margaret's live band, and now he's about to return with Numbskull, his first solo album in eight years. It features guest appearances from people like Tegan And Sara and MSPAINT, and Hemsworth just shared a new track with the Portuguese psych-pop singer and producer Nana Lourdes.

When Hemsworth announced Numbskull last month, he shared two tracks: "One Step," which features Illuminati Hotties' Sarah Tudzin, and "A Display Of Emotion," one of our favorite songs of the week. (It came in at #2, right behind Hemsworth's past collaborator Tinashe.) "I Missed You More," his latest, is a bleary, chopped-up, deconstructed pop song that still packs plenty of melodic and emotional punch. In a press release, Hemsworth says:

I started this song with Nana Lourdes as something that sounded more like the Pains Of Being Pure At Heart or something, but I couldn't get it to the right place. I think I tried like eight very different versions. I finally landed on just cutting and sampling the guitar I had -- it started taking me back to this early 2010s chillwave sound that I was missing. Nana is a dream to work with and can just quickly write these infectious pop melodies and engineer things perfectly.

Lourdes says, "Ryan and I started this a million years ago, and it's been through just as many versions since, but I'm really glad this is the one that finally made it out into the world. I'm grateful and honored to have been a small part of it." Check it out below.

Numbskull is out 10/21 on Topshelf.
