Birmingham, Alabama might not be a place where you'd expect to find much shimmery indie-pop jangle, but the world is a rich and complicated place, and things that you might not expect happen all the time. Birmingham's Slack Times have been perfecting their brightly woozy indie pop for the past few years. Today they unveil their upcoming album Casting.
Slack Times released their debut EP Up Here back in 2021, and they've released one album, 2022's Carried Away, and a handful of singles and EPs. They've been through some lineup changes, but the group's core has always revolved around the trio of Chris McCauley, Abby Anderson, and Stuart Norman. Casting comes out this fall, and it's their first with new bassist Jonathan Ruiz. Lead single "Goodbye" is a pretty, propulsive twinkle, and you can hear it below.
