Dirt Buyer – “My Life’s All Right” (Shira Small Cover)

2:29 PM EDT on September 17, 2026

Earlier this year, Bayonet launched a series where artists from their roster cover a song from The Numero Group catalog. The fourth installment is out today and has Dirt Buyer putting an emo spin on Shira Small's 1974 jazz gem "My Life's All Right."

"I have this incessant hunger for inspiration and reference as a songwriter," Joe Sutkowski says, "and am kind of always in search of music that is new to my ears and mythology that is interesting — what I love about ethnomusicology in general, but specifically Numero Group is that it's like being shown this treasure map that leads you right to something really important and special that has already been unearthed for you and there's even a pamphlet that says 'hey! This is what this is and this is why and how.' There is so much love and care put into the various releases and they have a certain taste and sensibility that I can always trust. I owe a lot to numero for its music preservation efforts and for giving its listeners an endless laundry list of really great choices."
