"Birds" is arguably the best song from Turnstile's 2025 album Never Enough, and it's definitely the song mostly likely to make people absolutely lose their minds at live shows. When they toured last year, Turnstile ended their sets with "Birds." On their current tour, they're using that song as their opener. Now, Slayyyter gets to harness the live-show power of "Birds."
Last month, Turnstile released their extremely cool new covers-and-remixes collection Never Enough: Versions. The record includes two very different takes on "Birds" — one from veteran Maryland death metal brutalists Dying Fetus and another from ascendant trash-pop great Slayyyter, whose album WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA was #1 on our mid-year list. With her version of the song, Slayyyter turns "Birds" into blistering blog-house, combining her voice with that of Turnstile frontman Brendan Yates.
On Monday night, Slayyyter's current tour took her to the Eastern in Atlanta, and she ended the pre-encore part of her set by performing her "Birds" cover live for the first time. She got really into it, and so did the crowd. It's fun to hear a Slayyyter audience sing along with that song, sounding exactly the same as Turnstile fans. Watch it below.

Slayyyter is set to open one show on Turnstile' huge fall tour. Turnstile's 10/6 show at the University Of Kansas in Lawrence also has Slayyyter and Die Spitz on the bill, which sounds fucking awesome. Maybe they'll do "Birds" together.
