Hey you! How do you feel about trebly, urgent garage-punk rock 'n' roll? If you feel good about it, then you should acquaint yourself with Gripper, a Philly band whose lineup includes members of bands like Teenage Halloween, Latewaves, Nylon, and Street City Surf. Gripper have already released a 2025 demo and a 2026 split with Nympho, and now they've got an album on the way.
Gripper's full-length debut Another Night Of Fun On Me arrives early next year, and I have to say I really like that cover art. Yesterday, they shared "Miss Behave" and "Other Bastard," two tracks of fists-up boogie riffs and yelping vocals that may or may not have been recorded on two tin cans held together with a string. It makes me think of the Exploding Hearts, so consider that an endorsement. Below, check out those songs, the LP's tracklist, and Gripper's upcoming shows.
