Memoryhouse – “Gian Lorenzo Bernini”

Memoryhouse PR 2010

Esopus Magazine always closes its issues with a themed CD -- past themes have includes "Good News" and "Spam." Their latest issue featured musicians writing songs about, and named after, artists. Guelph, Ontario duo Memoryhouse chose Baroque sculptor Gian Lorenzo Bernini as the subject of their dreamy, echo-laden contribution.

Denise Nouvion's voice seems to yawn away on "Gian Lorenzo Bernini," but it's a little more present on "Lately (Troisième)." This song is a re-recorded and re-arranged version of "Lately (Deuxième)," from their debut EP The Years.

Compare to the original: Both have that ocean-y swirl to them, and by ocean I mean the seashell-held-to-your-ear kind.
