Toronto's Diamond Rings is the solo project of John O'Regan, who makes glam, strutting synth pop that, even with video treatments like the one below, doesn't feel camp. There's a lot to love in this video: the football/basketball imagery (key song line: "I'm the kind of boy who likes to play rough"), the ritualistic locker room scene, a guest appearance by Damien from Fucked Up, the excellent voguer, this:
The video was directed by Claire Edmondson. It's her directing debut, but she's styled Gnarls Barkley, Feist, and Lykke Li before, so she's likely responsible for the awesome mid-nineties look of this clip.
