The little I've gathered about Greatest Hits from talking to friends is that they're a duo (or a trio) from Los Angeles (I'm fairly certain) that now live in Brooklyn (definitely) and are on Olde English Spelling Bee, with a new 7" out next Tuesday. Speculations and confirmations aside, the song anchoring the four-track release is "Danse Pop," which is both dance and pop, though skewed, skittering, and comfortably warped on both fronts. Despite its slap-back vocal effects, oddball harmonies, and Kevin Barnes breakdown/exeunt, you could jam this into an otherwise straight-laced DJ set and not alienate the entire party. Or jam it at a screwed DJ set and unite it. The whole 7" is worthy, and is all here for free download, starting with this, the title track:
