Weird that Kid Rock's Born Free topped M.I.A.'s, but at least I now know John Mellencamp, Peter Wolf, and Elton John released albums this year. Otherwise, the Top 10's very kind to hip-hop and the Black Keys (hip-hop by association?). The Top 50 Singles has its share of hip-hop and popular radio hits, as is the way with singles lists, but there are plenty of curve balls and old-timers, too. Cold War Kids are stoked.
