At the beginning of February, Martial Canterel, the veteran Wierd-imprinted Raymond Roussel-referencing solo project of Xeno & Oaklander's Sean McBride, is releasing one of my early '11 favorites. You've heard (and seen) You Today's icy, alienated title track. The 11-song collection's second single is opener, "Occupy These Terms." Like the rest of You Today, it mixes densely spacious analog production, intelligent lyrics, existential loneliness, chilly darkness, a great hook. Play it loud.

You Today is out 2/8 via Wierd. You'd do well to own it.
