Paul Banks has been having plenti of fun masquerading around under the name Julian, releasing a debut LP at just around the same time (again) as that other smart-dressing NYC contemporary with the same first name. For his part InterPaul's been prolific of late -- a stop at Fallon's, a video with Emily Haines, some free MP3s -- and plans to tour his Skyscraper around the world this November with a band that includes members of French Kicks and the Giraffes. In anticipation, the Interpol singer anchored the antics of the It Came From Brooklyn series' latest installment, this past Friday night in the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum's Frank Lloyd Wright Rotunda. Banks brought strings, horns, and interesting covers (America's "Horse With No Name," Pixies' "Into The White"), taking the stage after funny things from Eugene Mirman, readings by Rivka Galchen and Hampton Fancher, and an opening musical set by I'm In You.
