At a recent Philly show, New York indie-pop upstarts Cults pulled out a perfectly respectable cover of Leonard Cohen's great 1989 synthetic-bleakness anthem "Everybody Knows," which readers of a certain age will remember fondly as Christian Slater's theme music from the ridiculously great 1990 movie Pump Up The Volume.
