The Shins first album since 2007's Wincing The Night Away is imminent, and is also 2-for-2 (see: "Simple Song" and "September.") Today Port Of Morrow turns up a third listen with its opening track, "The Rifle's Spiral." It's a lusher production than the others -- note the many bleeps, followed by the equally numerous bloops -- though essentially it is still James Mercer, catchy and thoughtful and somewhat existentially minded, on another one that should please Shins fans. Hear it here.
The Shins' Port Of Morrow -- their first record not for Sub Pop -- is out 3/20 via Columbia/Aural Apothecary.
